Hi all. Need some help. I have a 1965 cb160 new coil condenser points carb cleaned needs set at lowest setting timing set good compression. Cranks and runs ok. Has a flat spot just above idle. Continiously turns the plugs black. Idle jet 35 main 90. I cannot get this thing to lean down. Any suggestions.
Thanks !!!

Transferring from your introduction post I think you mean you have the clips in the top groove on the needles. Could need the floats adjusted, float valves may not be sealing, floats may have leaks letting fluid inside and causing them to sink.

Are the slides in the right way around? (cutaway towards the air cleaners) Metering rods on the middle notch? How many turns out for the air screws? Is the spark advance unit freed up and working correctly? It should advance smoothly when checked with a strobe light. At 2500 miles it must have sat around for many years, it might be a good idea to check and make sure some critter hasn't built a nest in the muffler and plugged up the works.
