My reprint parts manual lists 6 dowels (10x14).
The website at CMSNL and others list 4 dowels.

So are there 4 dowels between the cases and the bottom of the cylinder, and two dowels with o-rings on the 2 rear studs on the top of the cylinder? or is it two on the bottom back and 4 on top? Or is it....

Thanks,
Adam

Tom,
you're right, they're not often wrong but...
my parts list seems to show 3 up and 3 down!?!??

and that might make sense (for someone unfamiliar like me) because 450s have 3 between cylinder and head. guess you'll just have to identify where they fit physically and how many do, and let that be your guide.

CMNSL is a good reference, but there are some anomalies.

For example, I was trying to find some information about the CB174K4 bottom yoke yesterday. All the fiches on CMNSL show a friction steering damper fitted, on the K4 through to K6, which clearly isn't right. I think the K3 was the last one with the damper.

Looking at my pictures from when I took mine apart there's 4 for the cylinders-case and 4 for the head-cylinder. The two outer rear (intake side) dowel pins get an o-ring between the cylinder and the head.
Your gaskets should also help you figure it out
