Forum members, can I use a Speedo/Odometer from a CB/CL175 on my 1975 CB200T? I’ve scanned previous threads under electrical discussion and a site wide search. No one seems to have raised this question. My speedo works. But, it has an unsightly scratch on the lens. I tried disassembling a used speedo with a good lens and found the plastic housings on these models are not suitable for a lens or face replacement like CB360 models. So, I started looking at replacements on eBay and see very similar looking speedos on CB/CL 175 models with the blue facing. One eBay vendor (located in Taiwan) indicated they are compatible. I do know the part numbers are different. Thanks in advance for advice and insights.

I'm going to guess they'll interchange, other than possibly the front wheel size difference which I did not look up. Many Hondas have the same speedometer ratio

They are directly interchangeable, so far as the gearing and electrical connections are concerned.

Biggest difference is in the mounting bracket. Cb200 and CB/CL 175 K7 clocks are angled toward the rider, and the threaded portion where the speedo and tacho cables screw onto is at an angle. On the 175 clocks, this threaded portion emerges at right angles to base of clock.

The CB200 / K7 clocks are mounted on a bracket that attaches to a casting on the top yoke, while the earlier CB175 uses a bracket that attaches to the fork tops. Mounting studs on the CB200 clocks are in a different position to the 175 ones.

I've done this swap, needed to make up a new mounting bracket. Here's one for mounting CB200 clocks onto a CB175. 175 bracket at top of shot.

And going the other way, bracket to mount CB175 clocks onto a CB200 top yoke.
