HELLO
Just checking the air filters on my recently bought 1970 cb 450,they are in a bit of a state, the bottom of the filters and the centre connector box were very oily,i then noticed that the rocker breather has been plumbed into the bottom connector box,not sure why, i know more modern bikes have breather pipes going into the airboxes for emisson purposes, but am i right in thinking this not the case with the 450 oviousley where the oil is from, would this also upset the carburation.
any comments please
thanks
Dave.

No, the breather should not be routed to the air filter.
It should just exit to the rear of the bike down towards the ground.
It would certainly mess things up.
