I have a cb450k1 tank with new cap part # 17620-402-010 after fuel sloshing around, it pours out of the vent on underside of cap, its a straight shot from cap to vent. Is there supposed to be some sort of check valve in cap, did I get a bad cap, it is an o.e. honda cap not a repop.

the ones I've seen have a couple of disks held captive by a spring, all this wedges up into the cap. I think Rod had the tech bulletin / recall info for the gas cap replacement honda rolled out something about popping open/leaking in the event of a wreck.

I didn't think the K1 cap had any sort of mechanism to it, but I haven't taken mine apart. I know on the later models there is some sort of spring in there. I assume you have the cap gasket on there and it's not just that part that is leaking. The cap will work without a gasket, but it does leak. (that reminds me, I need to order a gasket...)
