I purchased a carb rebuild kit for my 1973 CB350G. So, the first problem I have run into is that the spring on the float needle is compressed. It seems like the float is either too heavy for the spring in the needle or that the spring is just too weak. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I tried the other new needle that came with rebuild kit and it works. I guess you can not assume that just because something is new that it is functional. Thank you TOOLS1

I think what Tools was implying is that the kits often have parts that don't fit properly (like any supplier would actually tell you) and the OEM part is the best way to go when it's available. Also, if you use the jets that came in the average kit, they may or may not be the proper size, despite what might be stamped on them.
