The throttle plate/shaft on one of my CB350 carbs (Keihin) is very stiff to turn. It requires a great deal of force and the return spring won't budge it.

I wanted to remove the plate and shaft to see what the issue is, but I can't figure out how to remove them. I have the end nut and spring off and the two screws holding the plate to the shaft removed, but I'm unsure how to proceed. With the screws out, does the plate then slide out of the shaft? Or does the shaft slide out of the plate assembly?

I thought Mike had some pictures in his 450 build thread, but I just checked and couldn't find any.

The plate should slide out, but if as I suspect, the shaft is slightly bowed (bent) it may be difficult to remove... They are usually pretty tight fits....

Thanks Steve. I just looked at it again and the plate itself is bent a bit right by the shaft which is most likely hanging it up. I'll take a further look tomorrow.

Thanks again.
