i have a cm450a freshly rebuild engine and carbs
Compression is little low 120psi left and right because ring is not seated yet
Timing is good
The bike start pretty easily but the Idle screw is almost fully turn in it idle at 1800-2000rpm if i unscrew the idle the bike dies
I try adjusting the mixture screw but nothing make move the rpm the plug are black and sooty
Valve are set
No vacuum leak

I Will try it tommorow is it bad to run it too rich
for a short while running rich is easier on your engine than runniing lean. You will probably foul your spark plugs.
It sounds like you need to revisit your carbs and see if they are the problem....either that or a mouse nest in the air filters. You are running air filters aren't you?
If your cylinders were bored and honed they should have proper compression..........

Persistance usually overcomes problems. Basicly check everything, even wierd stuff. And keep track of what you checked and what the specifications and results were.
Compression is ok now i was doing my test cold and All maintenance running parts are new spark plug oil air filter chain and sprocket brake carb rebuild and engine too i am unable to drive it now i am waiting for my new chain to come in

Is your bike the automatic, if so beware getting the wrong rebuild kit for the carbs. It also sounds like bikes I have worked on where the mechanic left out parts or even left out the idle jets.....no lie I once bought a old gold wing with no idle jets and it would start and run. .....Only above 3000 RPM.
