Hello all,
Frustration has set in, working on my 79 cb400t. I had the head and cylinders off, removal seemed easy enough, so now is time to get the camshaft, gear and chain back in place.
I get to the point where the cam is in place, but the gear with the chain on just can't seem to pull up back onto the center hub of the shaft to bolt it back onto.About 5mm space exists. (didn't have the camera with me so no pictures yet)The chain guide is pulled up so it should be out of the way, everything is lined up T on rotor..timing marks on gear, chain is on the gear. It's almost like I should have another link in the chain.
Any tips tricks for that, looks easy in the manual.

Any help is most welcomed.

With everything in place they will go on but sometimes its not easy. Pull the gear off the shoulder and put the chain on and make sure the chain isnt hung up on the sides and it will slip on but as you say its frustrating . Its one of those things you have to fiddle with to get it to go on. Just be glad its not an A model and your trying to get the tourque converter on.
