I can't speak for others, but none of my polished stuff is cleared... it takes a bit away from the gloss and I've never had any trouble with oxidation after polishing, so I leave it as it comes out.

I wouldn't clear it. The polishing pretty much seals the pores of the metal where corrosion starts. Keep it clean, maybe wash and wax it when you do a valve adjustment and it should stay nice and shiny.

Those are the answers I was looking for. Thx Jim and Tom.. Now this engine is off the bike, you said a valve adjustment? This engine has about 20 thousand miles, should I go ahead and adjust the valves? I’ve never done engine work like that! Thx.

Sure, engine out is the easiest time to adjust, nothing in the way. Process is in the FSM, just need a .004" and .006" feeler gauge
