Hello all,
Greetings and wishing you a blessed and happy Easter.
My bike is 72 450. Rear rim is a 2.15x18. What is the best looking size of tire ? The bike is brat style with no rear fender.
I would like to use the rim I have.
Thanks,
Jerry

Though it is a tad large for the rim, I'm running a 4.00-18 replica Dunlop K70 on mine. Depends on the type of tire you want to use, whether period-correct or modern
I ordered a Duro HF 308 4.00x18. It is classic style. I was hoping to use a bigger tire in the rear.

Required rim width for any size tire is best determined by the manufacturer of that particular tire...... They usually have charts SUGGESTING the optimal rim width the tire was designed to mount on and allowable varying rim widths.... IF you want the best (maximum) contact patch and optimal contour, follow their suggestions..... A nominally (by width measure) wider tire mounted on a narrower rim may have less contact than the correctly sized narrower tire.....
