I'm in the process of restoring a 65 CB450, and currently working on the engine. I need to replace the exhaust cam because one of the lobes has some gualling/scoring. Does anybody know if the cams are interchangable between the 4spd and 5 spd engines? I also need to replace 3 of the cam followers. Same question, can a use K1 or later followers? Thanks for any help, Gerald

The same part number (14431-292-010) is used in all 450's.

They are still available from Honda (I think), but they're about $85 each.

I saw a couple recently - they sure were purty.......

If you wouldn't mind, put your location and year/model somewhere in your Signature/Profile.........

292 numbers are K1 5speed but I'm sure Bill knows better than me if they are all interchangeable?? Regards Chris.

Tappets appear to be the same part for all 450's.

Intake cams may interchange (they probably fit in there ok), but do have different part numbers....
Exhaust cams appear to be the same part.
Torsion bars are different - 4 speeds have a 3-part torsion bar, 5 speeds have a 2-part torsion bar.
But again, they may interchange ok....
