Fixed the triple tree and the front fork. I replaced the original shift lever since it was pretty torn up and bent with a new one. Now the bike won't shift out of neutral. Shifting down into first it just clicks but doesn't catch, same with shifting up.

Any ideas? it was working fine before I pulled the shift lever off, any ideas?

Thanks,
mike

There is a circlip and a spindle stopper on the gear shift spindle. #2 and #12.

If the clip is not seated in the notch on the shaft, the shaft can move in and out, maybe causing your shifting problem.

Washer #2 is special, and no longer available. Took me months to find a good substitute.
The circlip is not special, just a circlip.

Without the washer, you can get sideplay in the shaft, and eventually the circlip will fail to hold things in place anymore.......the clip damages the seal, as well.
