So.... I was out riding with the missus a couple of days ago when my clutch cable snapped 3 miles from home.

Luckily I had this kit with me and was able to repair the cable and got back on the road and home safely.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-UNIVERSAL-INNER-CLUTCH-THROTTLE-BRAKE-CABLE-REPAIR-KIT-MOTORCYCLE-NIPPLES/121034224131?_trkparms=aid=555018&algo=PL.SIM&ao=2&asc=20160323102634&meid=6c2a7b5d4e7646049a1256066d6e4572&pid=100623&rk=1&rkt=6&mehot=ag&sd=121034224132&itm=121034224131&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

This kit included a cable of the exact diameter as my clutch cable which is a bonus.

I'm having trouble with your link, ebay tells me it can't find the item. When I search for "UNIVERSAL-CABLE-REPAIR-KIT-FOR-MOTORCYCLE-THROTTLE-CLUTCH" (text contained in your link) I find this:

Is that it?

Interesting. So it's cable with one open end, and a bunch of knarps... and you just pull out the busted cable and feed in the replacement?

Yep. Or if there is enough slack in the busted cable you could just use one of the barrel nuts on the busted end.

I used on of those to make a cable on my "basket case" Triumph,.. I had the cable snap on a ride with 950 other riders.. I speed shifted my way to the end of the ride.. was FUN finding neutral as I entered the parking lot!!

Yeah. Clutch cables don't break often thankfully. But when they do, we'd be screwed if we don't have a backup plan. Pushing the bike home isn't fun.

Thanks! I just ordered one.

Brought something like this when I did my 6 month trip on a KLR650 through Central America. Never had to use it then but it was great peace of mind in the great unknown...
