Anyone know the thread size for the correct alternator puller? I'm looking on Motion Pro's website and it appears that they stock several.

Also, best way to lock the engine from rotating while using said puller? I'm guessing I'm going to have to hit it with an impact wrench. I suppose since I'm replacing the pistons, I can hook the skirt of one piston over the engine case, but I'd rather not do that...

Now how to hang onto that thing while I turn the puller??

Don't know about this particular one, but mine has a hole through the hex head that I can get a screwdriver through.
Just screw it in till it contacts the end of the crank, couple of good whacks with a hammer, the alternator just pops right off, no need to clamp anything or put a shim in the clutch gear or anything.......
But, mine is circa 1966 or so - if needed you can drill your own hole in it.
