I have 2 DOHC 450 alternator covers with the typical shifter impact crack at the HONDA logo. Rather then toss them, I'd like to experiment with welding up the crack, building up material, and then grind the mess smooth.... creating a smooth domed custom cover without logo. Not sure of the weld metal material yet.... anyone tried this? tips/comments? thanks all, danWI
