Hi The Air cleaner elements on my 71 SL175 K1 need replacing but they are a discontinued part from honda and I can't yet find any non original spares even from David Silver here int he UK.
I wonder whether I can fashion an element from some foam cut to size and wrapped around the air cleaner body. Has anyone done this? What is the type of foam I'm looking for?

Yes you can, it’s a common fix. Search for “uni” foam.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try this for some CB/CL 350 elements, barring any better suggestions.
