Started up my 1968 CB160 and found the headlight bulb was dead. I’m taking this as an opportunity to get a brighter headlight since the stock one is pretty sketchy on dark roads. I’m very new to motorcycles for please excuse the noob questions but are there any lights that are bad to but on (to much voltage?). I want something stronger but don’t want to sap my battery. What kinda of bulbs are my opinions?

Thanks

One option is to use the lens/bulb holder assembly from a 5 3/4" "Sportster" type headlight from J&P cycles
(part # 3100165 .... about $50)
It can be fitted into the stock CB160 bezel....You WILL also need at least TWO "W" shaped headlight spring clips for the install.
You SHOULD replace the provided 65/55W H4 halogen with a 35/35W halogen bulb to minimize electrical power usage.....
These are commonly used on larger (Chinese) scooters and cost about $8 each.....

Thanks! Exactly what I am looking for. Any idea where I can find the headlight spring that should work? Other than that I think i'm going to just order it all.
