On further investigation, The A.R.C Ignition System fitted to my 1974 CL450 would appear to be be some form of spark amplifier and not electronic ign as I first assumed, I say this as the points & condensors are still in situ and wired, I have been unable to find out anything about this system by the usual search facilities, The bike was imported from the States a few months ago, so I assume this system was available over there at some time, Anyone have any information that may help, regards Kenny.

Sounds like a points-triggered transistorized ignition. The circuit has been around since the early sixties, a lot of small companies have marketed their versions of it. The Hondaman ignition is one of the few examples still available today.

Did you end up ditching the ARC? I found one on my 1975 CB500T and I'm not sure if it's hurting or helping 🤣 🤣
