She’s coming apart, looks like the previous owner didn’t believe in oil? See attached pictures - need some advice on what to do moving forward. Thanks!

Pictures a little fuzzy but enough detail to show valve head and some damage...

In one picture can I see alloy " corrosion" on cylinder "pent roof" ?

How is that bore for corrosion ?

I wonder if some previous
owner had stored bike long enough for that exhaust valve to stick open ?

An inconsiderate "awakening" from hibernation dismissing the possibility of a stuck Valve can make a viable engine SCRAP in one stroke, with resultant damage as seen.

You have been warned.

Any sign of a bent valve stem on that broken valve ?

I would keep dismantling being carefull to put stuff back like con rod caps etc..

Any signs of it being apart before ?

Pictures pictures pictures pictures...

An eBay engine could be sourced....

Or sell parts from this bike to fund next....

If you particularly like this model, keep and get an other....

Yes, it all boils down to money...

Anyone know if I’d need to direct swap the cylinder head/pistons from an ‘82 cm450c or did other years/models use similar parts? I’m finding some on eBay/cmsnl, but want to make sure before I spend another $200 on everything.
