Any idea what this horrible noise is? It appears to be coming from the lower end.

This 3rd video is after adjusting the cam chain tensioner as per the manual. It sounds much worse..

The first video sounds like and exhaust leak, possibly where the exhaust connects to the head.

The second and third videos at higher rpm sound like you may need to adjust your cam chain or your valve tappets, or both. Don't know if that model has a balancer, if so that chain may need adjusting.

On the other hand I found another you-tube video of a similar bike and it sounded much like yours. Maybe it's owner just can't hear.

How long have you had this bike? Is this something that just started. Did the sound appear suddenly or gradually?

Classis cam chain/balance chain/valve clearance/clatter noises.

Have you had this engine apart?

Start with valve clearance ( capacity seems to vary, 250 or 400?? ) , cam chain sprung loaded system sometimes needs some help, how do cam sprocket timing lines lie at "T"??, and how much cam chain "lift" from cam sprocket??/link movement??, balance chain adjustment is under clutch cover, again sprung loaded and sometimes needs some "exercise"", see manual for all info.

Do not over tighten these chains!!

Do any noises "disappear" when the clutch is pulled in on handle bar??

If clutch cover is coming off, ideal time to flush out engine internals, clean clutch drum etc, is the clutch drum slotted nut tight?? They can and do cause noises if loose, and clutch basket cush drive "worn"/ carbs out of balance ( thump, thump, thump noise at idle).

Love the tank seam cover, please re route the clutch cable ( repair burnt cable cover with tape and heat shrink ) :)

ps, head exhaust clamps tight and gas leaks?? front pipe clearance for engine ??? looks close, but chain noises defo!!
