76 CB360 Starting issues

I bought my first bike a little over a week ago it's a gorgeous 1976 CB360. When I bought it the electric start was bad but it was kicking fine which was well enough for me. I've started it up and practiced on it five times since I bought it and it took more and more effort to start each time and now I can't start it at all. Once it was started it didn't give me any issues. Nice and quick went through the gears just fine and would start back up in on kick when I'd stall it. Like I said this is my first motorcycle and I am mechanically inept. Im not sure where to start in terms of getting her back up and running so I can get on the road. Any tips?
