Hey everyone!

The problem that I was having (and am still having unfortunately) is that any time that I accelerate or put any kind of load on the bike, the revs will climb, but the speed would not increase. This is especially noticeable when the bike's rpm's are over 4000. I was reading on this site that one of the possible solutions to this problem could be that the clutch needs replacing, so that is what I did. There was some life left to the clutch, but not a whole bunch. After replacing the clutch and the gasket, the problem still remains. I'm just wondering what could possibly be causing the problem. Any input would be very helpful!

Clutch adjustment could be too "tight" and still applying slight pressure, or you could be using the wrong oil,

What oil are you using? Is the oil fuel fouled? Is the clutch adjusted correctly? Are you running pods and or open pipes

1. Remove the oil dipstick and sniff it and the crank case. Does it smell like fuel? If yes, remove the oil immediately and don't run the bike without figuring out why you have fuel in the crank case.

2. Re-do the clutch cable procedure. Turn the adjustor screw all the way in at the handle bar, and and the crank case. Remove the round cover to expose the clutch cable and lever arm. Loosen the 10mm tension nut and turn the flat head screw out until there is NO tension on it. Now turn it in until youjust start to feel it tension. Loosen 1/2 a turn and redo the tension nut. Now, at the crank case, turn the cable tensioner until you begin to take the slack out of the cable. There should be a 1/2" or so of play at the lever.

3. If you are running non-JASO oil, it could be that it's not wet-clutch compatible and is causing slipping issues. You'll need to change it out a few times to get all the old oil out if this is the case.

4. Post up with your results. It is imperative that if you have gas in the oil that you NOT run the engine. It will ruin the cam shaft and you'll be in for a costly repair.

Thank you so much for the help! Step number 2 worked like a charm for my slipping clutch. It took some adjusting and a few trials, but my bike is back on the road once again! Thanks again for all of the replies everyone!
