My rear rim is rusty, it may clean up but won't be perfect. I have a complete CB550 of 1976 vintage rear wheel that is real nice. I have looked and the two bikes share the same bearings and spokes. I figure the gearing is different, but that is not a problem to fix.

Does anyone know if they will interchange or where can I find that info?

I like to use Partzilla to look up and compare parts. If you click on a specific part in the list and scroll down there is a section showing other bikes that used the same part with the same part number.

It appears this part doesn't cross over between the two models and the hubs are of different design. At that point if the spirit moves you to try fitting it up seeing as the bearings are the same and the axle should fit, perhaps the spacers will also fit and the chain line will be good.

In any event the other rim can be laced up to your 450 hub, they are both 40 spoke 1.85x18 wheels.

Did you try to mount the 550 wheel on the 450? There could be a lot of reasons Honda used different part numbers.

IIRC the hub of the CB550 is slightly wider and may not fit the CB450 correctly. Try it and see.
