I got it running really well. I need to replace the seat cover. It's on order and should be here this week. On my first real ride, the right side muffler that you see in the picture exploded, sorta. It split both top and bottom seams and blew off a piece of the end. I think it's seen it's last exhaust smoke. I'm trying to get my wife to buy me a set from Australia for $800 but I don't know if that will work. Anyway, I'll ride it around here some and then start taking it apart to fix some of the small parts that have some rust on them and have a new bike to take out next spring.

Nice looking ride. You may find an exhaust used for low bucks. I once posted a wanted add on Craigs list and picked up a 70 SL350 that had been torn apart for $50.00. The exhaust was in great shape.

Hey, good to see another old SL350 being taken care of. ;) I managed to pick up on some SL350 stuff myself, last year. I've got a good amount of an SL350 K0 and a couple of SL350 K2s that are also in various stages of disrepair. Hoping to get to them before long, of course that's what I said last year too. Time flies before I can have any fun. :(

Be looking forward to seeing your progress. ;)

I got my new seat cover yesterday and put it on last night. I found that the mouse had tunneled from the back to the front, where her nest was. I had some foam that matched the seat foam pretty well and cut tubes of it and pushed it through the tunnels and repaired the place in the back, as well. I have so much crap around here, it's nice to be able to use some of it. The cover was made here in Ark., at Piggot and installed fairly easily. My wife says it looks too new but what can you do?

Oh DARN!....I guess you'll just have to ride it until the seat "ages" and wears in a bit...... Don't you just HATE it when THAT happens?....... Steve

Nice job there, arkieoscar! Seems like you and I are on the opposite sides of our state. I'm in the Western Central area in Greenwood. Always good to see another SL350 coming along too!

Take care, Bill ;)

Sold my good, left side muffler for $405 and bought a set of K0 mufflers for $235. I'm trying to find the time to make some mounts for the K0 pieces and I'm still saving up for the repros from Oz. They would be the last thing that I install after the resto because of their cost. Warm days will see it running up and down the ridge.
