Am I missing something in the back of this cam chain tensioner? I don't recall anthing being installed in the back of the tensioner but I don't remember and I can not find anything that looks like it should go there? It seems like it would leak quite a bit without something.

I recall the end of the plunger as being solid, not tubular like that.....

That's pretty much what it's supposed to look like though, no other parts back there.

Your tensioner is complete - but it does look like the mounting bolts aren't all there? The adjuster rod used to stick out the back on the early 450s. You can set the tensioner by releasing the setting bolt on top of the adjuster, putting a small feeler rod in that rear hole (Allen key, matchstick, whatever) and turning the motor over slowly. you'll feel the rod move in and out as the motor turns. When it's in as far as it goes - don't push on it - (easy to feel; not a subtle movement), tighten the locking nut and your adjustment is complete.

Thanks Kerry, I have all the bolts I was just holding it in place with the two. I didn't think I had lost any of the parts but when I saw the hole in the back I thought there might have been a rubber cover or something. It seems like oil would seep out of the hole but I guess not and I didn't see anything on the Fiche either.
