Just picked up '67 CB450. Tachometer needle was stuck at 4,000 RPM when it showed up. Went through the bike and got it started but Tach is bouncing all over. Anyone else have this problem? This week I'll be setting timing and adjusting valves - carbs have been rebuilt but will dial in after timing and valves.

Obviously the gauge has already been apart... those are more difficult than the single units on the later 450s. the tach needle just fell off the shaft on mine after it had been refurbished (cosmetic only), and prior to it falling off it was waving around wildly as well - so yours could just be loose on the shaft
