So I got that oil spinner apart this morning and there was a good 1/8" layer of crud on it. Probably around 8200 mi. worth. I had watched a vid on Ewetube about this. The " mechanic" was using a steel screwdriver to scrape the crud out. I was cringing watching him put scratches into the aluminum. I used a Popsicle stick and carb cleaner. But that's just me. There was also some really tough stuff in the "rim" areas where the two halves meet and the groove where the snapring goes. This stuff bordered on corrosion. I did use a tiny screwdriver to scape that down to metal. The o-ring was still soft, so I reused it. Went back together good.

So I got the oil spinner back in. It is a trick getting the chain on the first time around. Used some but not all of the bits in the carb kit. The bowl gasket was not a perfect fit by any means. I ended up using contact cement to stick it right to the bowl... I was worried it wouldn't seal on the sides where the bowl is curved, not straight. Started her up. Not sparking well on the left cyl. Gonna throw a new set of plugs at it.

Took the first ride on the dream today. The petcock fixed itself. I'm owing that to the rubber swelling up. That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. It's very stiff, but as long as it doesn't leak, I'm ok with it. I forgot to buy the plugs on my way out of town, so I just sanded the 'lectrode and ground. Ran on two cylinders a little while I was going round in circles. I have limited amounts of time to fool with it in the afternoons. But I am making progress little by little.

Put new plugs in on Sunday. Rode around in circles again. Seemed starved for fuel. Checked flow through petcock. Seemed ok. Took bowl off carb. Was not full by any means. Turned fuel on and flicked floats up and down. Seemed to work ok. Today, started again. Rode around in circles. Ran better. Put the new adj. screws in the carb as well.
