New point gapped at .012
Coils test 1.3 Ohm
11.5 Volts to the black and white wires
On crank with the plug pulled and grounded, there is no fire from electrode
On crank with the plug pulled and 1/2" from cylinder head, there is a flame from the head to the plug and plug fires.
Why won't the plug fire when grounded?
A. poor engine ground
B. bad coils
C. not enough resistance
D. bad plugs

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. thanks!

What Steve said, crappy plug.
The spark needs to go from the plug tip to the bent thingie, even if it's grounded.
If the spark jumps to the closest ground instead, then the plug is shot.

Most plugs are crap these days. I don't even bother to clean them, just replace 'em.....
