On Saturday, our vintage motorcycle club sponsored a ride-in show that was hosted by the local Harley dealership. All brands welcome, proceeds benefiting the Disabled American Veterans, and some nice bikes showed up. Great turnout for a cloudy day that looked like rain. Glad it didn't, because I spent a lot of time polishing aluminum leading up to the show...lol

I rode my '69 Honda 350 to the show (about 50 miles there and back)and was surprised to be honored for owning it 50 years (I got it new in high school). Some neat gifts from American Honda, a local Honda dealer, and the vintage club, too. A fun day!

Anyway, here are a few pictures I took. Last 2 pics are my old Honda.

Dale, nice pics of all the bikes and yours too, of course. What a great gesture to be honored for 50 years of continuous ownership of your 350... I'd be curious to know what you received from American Honda and the dealership

I got a nice note and a Honda cap from the sales director at American Honda and a couple different 1969 Honda sales brochures from a local dealer. The club pitched in and bought me a vintage Honda motorcycle mechanic's shirt with my name embroidered on it. No pics - I couldn't carry them home with me on my bike, so a club member is holding them for me to pick up tomorrow. I'm still trying to find someone who took a pic of me and the bike while I was being presented with the goodies.

The Harley dealer was really supportive of the show. They provided the venue and a lot of publicity, hired and paid the band, and provided all the grills and food for us to cook and sell, as well as donating drink proceeds. We raised about $1000 for the local DAV chapter.

Nice pics! Cool award you got too. I'm pretty excited about my 450 turning 50 in a few years. I'd like to think I'll have 50 years of riding and ownership one day... About 33 years to go. Fun group you got there too! I should try starting something like that in the area.

83' what a great honor and to have kept the bike in such a clean state! Congratulations. I really liked your photos, that Hercules Wankel looked like a Hoover, I know it is a very rare bike.
