Bill, I was under the impression that Honda abandoned the "oiler" after maybe two "K's" and later models returned to the standard countershaft....?????.... (Can't get to my fiche...computer acting up)......Steve

I PM'd Bill about that very issue. I was wanting to get rid of mine on the K7, and had'nt looked at the engine in quite a while. I had a look and there is NO oiler. News to me.. :lol: But what is'nt??!?!

All the fiches show it present k3-k7.

My fiche shows the following:

4 Countershaft, Transmission..... K3 K4 23220-319-030
4 Countershaft, Transmission..... K5 K6 K7 23220-292-050

With part #5 through #10 on K3 K4 and NOT on any others. Part #5 through #10 being the oiler assembly parts.

That's pretty much the info I have, and how I remember it...... This had to be the best example of an "improvement" that didn't work out properly...But at least they tried!

It would appear that my K6 is without said messy oiler, and I purchased a K5 tranny as well that doesn't contain those bits...hmmm

Like you said, maybe they thought better of that idea after a few yrs and complaints...

Well I now own a transmission assembly from each of the latter three machines listed and none of them are kitted with the oiler. Kinda wish I had one from a K3 or 4 now just to compare 'em!
