I'm Having a hard time putting a 1976 CB360 back together. The tank was badly rusted so I cleaned it with muriatic acid. Did a great job but it caused a leak near the rear mounting bracket. Leaded that up and found a pin hole leak forward and underneath the tank. fixed that and now its leaking around the badge mount. I have a 1975 tank that is in nice shape but it is wider where the front mounting brackets meet the forward cushions. Any suggestions?

Thicker? Can I extend the shafts that hold the cushions?

I suppose you could weld a short extension to the ends. I'd just try Gorilla-gluing a rubber extension to the end of the cushion and see if that works first. How much extension do you need on each side?
