i have an opportunity on a pretty nice one here locally.
it has the luggage rack with bags. the seat is torn, which is the only imperfection i can find.

anyone have good experience or bad experience?

Fairly simple to work on, reliable for whatever purpose you want it for. Good handling.
Current difficult parts to find are side covers and stators.
I've toured the US twice on a 79 CM400T, it is modified for that though.

I have a CB, not CM but similar. Great simple engine design. Smooth for a twin of the time. Very comfy and light which is nice around town. Not super stable at speed compared to bigger bikes of the era.
Pretty ugly for a late 70's design, but that can be fixed!

Great bike choice! I took the excess luggage off, including side panniers and rear luggage rack. The weight was considerable. Feels easier to control at low speeds now. Lots of great chromework, looks like the classic that it is.
