Hello All,

I curently have a 1980 CM400T with the stock fuel tank.

What are my options for a larger fuel tank that will fit this bike?

Thanks,

CDR

First one I thought of was the GL500 but alas the front mounts, while they look the same, are one inch narrower than the 400. Fortunately us old geezers have to stop often enough that the size of the gas tank is seldom the limiting factyor anyway.

It's pretty much a try and see if it fits scenario..... any good bike junkyard should have a frame and selection of tanks.....

with the mileage the 400 gets you have over 150mile range. If you are worried about runing out in the middle of no where I'd suggest a gas stash. I run a cb750 chopper with 2 gal tank (70mile range) I've ran it dry a number of times. I carry one of those aluminum camp fuel cans (the ones that look like a metal water bottle) it is 8miles worth, and beats the heck out of walking
