Just in case I can't source the right color coded bearings, what is the worst case scenario if I use the wrong color coded main bearing shells according to the manual table? 2 hundredths of an inch between the sizes doesn't seem terrible but I'm new to engine work beyond oil changes and valve adjustments.
Thanks!

The bearing clearances are critical to the engine performance. Too tight a clearance will destroy the crank and too loose will mean oil pressure loss to the rest of the engine. You shouldn't have any problems sourcing the bearings between Honda, David Silver and CMSNL.

What or where is CMSNL? I looked at David Silver and no luck- who do I contact at Honda, or what department?

The spec's are .003" service limit, 3 thousandths of an inch
Standard spec, new/rebuild, is .0008" - .0017". So ideally you're looking for a 1 to 1.5 thousandth clearance on the rods and mains.
