It's NOT a simple answer, and I'll need answers to a couple questions first.... but a short phone call can solve that.......

I have a 1981 CB900F front end on the road bike, no steering lock and requires making steering stops. Looks like all that vintage 750/900 series had no steering lock on the lower half of the triple.

My buddy has a 74 cb 750 and the fork lock is under the triple tree like mine. What I am trying to do is beef up the front end to make the bike look bigger cause the front end looks small and change the rear shocks also. I would change everything as a bolt on. Is any thing available thanks

From the All Balls website fork conversion chart
HondaCB750K19742648.51599-3511-5305014.2599-3512-5

The blue numbers are their bearing numbers to use with the '74 CB750 to the CB400
You're not gaining much in fork tube diameter, 33mm to 35mm
Here's what 39mm forks from an '81 CB900F look like on a '79 CM400T

Rear shocks are longer to match the height change in the front, CB750 shocks

I'm glad I save some old emails:
Chat transcription :-

Progressive Suspension : Hi, how can I help you?
97.94.146.0 : ok, I'm riding a '79 honda cm400t. it has a '81 cb900f front end.
I'm using it for touring about the country, mostly paved roads.
Progressive Suspension : And what can i help you with?
97.94.146.0 : I'm looking at getting the suspension set properly for running
fully loaded. I know it needs front springs as well as the forks rebuilt. The
rear shocks are toast as well as the springs. What do you suggest?
Progressive Suspension : For the rear i would look into our 12-1204b dampers and
03-1367b coil springs
Progressive Suspension : The 11-1102 fork spring kit will work on the front end
97.94.146.0 : what is the overall length of those and the travel?
97.94.146.0 : right now the rear is 13.75 length
