How important are the two outside head bolts rubber sleeves? Its my understanding that they are to stop the oil flow. So are they necessary??

Thanks,

Chad

Honda tends to use copper washers under the nuts on the head studs to stop oil flow (from the oil passages around the studs)... I'll research the parts fiche, but the only rubber "sleeves" I remember are between the head and cylinder, or the cylinder and cases....Usually on the guide pins (tubes)..... I don't recall any at the top of the head.......
However, If Honda put them there they are necessary........

Yes, my cb200 has these sleeves as well. What are they for? They don't seem to be designed to seal. Mine aren't tight in the cylinder bolt holes. Is it a vibration dampener? An oil restrictor?
