hello
i have just bought a 1970 cb 450 k2 in great condition,my air filters are in a terrible state,but neither david silver or cms can supply them as they are a discontinued item,has any body any sugestions as to what i can do,as she is running very rich as these are well past there sell by date.

Diary of the (slow) restoration of my Honda CB450. ... On closer investigation, the air filters don't look too clever - in other words, ... They shouldn't be as the bike really didn't change much in the 1970s - the headlight got bigger ...

If you watch Ebay closely the air filters do show up as NOS (new old stock) from time to time, but they're usually pretty expensive.. If it were me, I'd go the route with the universal clamp on Uni-filters if you're not looking for a 100% correct restoration..

Are there any problems you run into running the pod filters?? Drivability issues??

I ask because with the 750/900 F's there are guys that just have fits trying to get theirs to run right with pods and end up going back to stock filters.Others seem to have no probs and swear by the pods.

It's true, the SOHC Fours in particular are finicky about their air filters. Most run best with the stock arrangement.

450's are fairly tolerant of stuff like this, they rarely need to be re-jetted after changing air filter types.
