I'm restoring a 1968 CL175 K0 and can't find out what the correct front rim size should be. In the tear down I took a 1.85 x 18 rim off the front and 1.60 x 18 rim off the back. The parts listing shows the rear is correct, but only has a discontinued part number for the front rim. Did the p.o. do something goofy here? I have never seen a wider wheel on the front vs. rear....

I was planning to put a 1.85 x 18 rim on the back with a 3.50 SR244 tire and put the 1.60 x 18 rim on the front with a 3.00 SR244 tire. I read a post suggesting the 3.50 was a bit much tire for the back of this bike, and having the new tires in hand now the 3.50 does look substantially bigger than the 3.00, which was stock.

Any help or opinions on this, as I have never had one of these bikes before.
Thanks!

Both ends came with 1.60 x 18, 36 hole rims... Front gets a 2.75 X 18 tire, Rear a 3.00 X 18.....
IF you MUST run a 1.85 rim, lace it to the rear hub.......

Thanks - looks like I'll try the 1.85 rim on the rear and 1.60 rim on the front, 3.00 x 18 SR244 tires on both as I can't really find a good dual purpose 2.75 wide for the front. If I hate them I can always change them later, more interested in getting it back together in time to ride this summer.
