Ok so I found a previous post explaining how a cb77 and cb450 front brake parts are interchangeable and cl77/cl450 are interchangeable because of the depth of the lining in the hub. Great I say I'll just get a cl77 hub to use with my cb450 brake for a 36 spoke race bike brake. DOH!! After I bid I count the spokes-40! I just assumed a cl77 would have 36 spokes like a cb. Well that's what I get for assuming. Anyway I'm looking to bid on a cb77 brake and hub but all the listings are giving different part numbers. The cb 77 used the same front brake through its entire production run right? I know the cl went to a bigger brake. Thanks
The very early CB72/77 had a single leading shoe front brake. After that change, I don't believe that they changed much, other than small details like the shape of the anchor pins. I have rebuilt several, and they all seem to interchange.
