I need an extra key set to my 1976 500T but cant find the number for the key anywhere on the bike. Is there somebody who can tell me where to find this please?

it should be marked on your key if original.
also on your ignition switch, sometimes hard to read if faded. I had to use a
magnifying glass with my old eyes. should be on any lock on the bike, ie steering look, maybe helmet lock etc..
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

The CB500T has the newer style ignition switch on the handlebars. The key number is not visible. Try looking at the helmet lock. You may need to take it off and look at the base. The best option might be to just have a new key copied from your existing key.

You'll need to disassemble the ignition switch. The key numbers are on the bottom of the cylinder.

you where right thank you, I had to disassemble the ignition switch and on the 500T 1975 it was located at the edge of the aluminum plate, on the 1976 on the main area on the plate itself. Sorry for my poor english.
