    Gearshaft Oil Seal - Removal

I have a small oil leak from the drive side gearshaft oil seal. I finally figured this out when i was changing my clutch cable a week or so ago and ordered the new seal. Now that I have the seal, any advice on how to get the old one out?? Its part 14 below.

Probably the easiest way is to slip the gear shift shaft out, then you can get to it, but there may be other suggestions.
This way you will be able to inspect the shaft to check for grooving

+1 on that, make sure to dress that shaft with a file or sand paper before pulling it out or it will get stuck in the case and or cut the seal going back in.

This is what mine looked like when I popped that side off the first time.

Took a hand file to it and cleaned it right up.

Thanks! That's about how mine looks too.

Should the shaft just slide right out by pulling?
