I love my stock gauges but my tach needle is bouncing around a lot, and it's just not a great look. I do know from a thread on here that there is a small damping pot under the needle in the gauge which is filled with dampening fluid that smooths the movement of the needle. This is the thread:

I learned this is why not to store the gauges upside down, which probably is the reason my tach is not well dampened. It's a replacement I bought on ebay. For anyone who's done this repair (calling go_hercules), could you give me a simple walkthrough? I'd love to fully restore these gauges. I'm also interested in anyone who can link me to gauge face replacements. I found some on ebay but they are printed on opaque vinyl so the gauge backlighting doesn't work with them.
