6 volt lights in a 12 volt signal housing

So i have been trying to figure out if i can use 6 volt lights in a 12v signal housing

my bike is a 6v system so, i was thinking can i not run 6 volt lights in new 12 volt housing, ( my rear turn signals are******beyond repair) and i cant find a nice looking 6v replacement.

i realize the but connector for the bulb might be a bit different, but in theory would it work?
I could also use the 6V led bulbs

just an idea, anyone have any suggestions?

    Cheers
    thanks

    That will work
I changed my cd175 to 12v which is easy and makes bulbs etc very very easy. Just replace the stator ( it just 2 plugs and 3 bolts) with one from a cb/cl 175 or 200 and then replace the rectifier to a 12v one ( 1 plug and 1 bolt) the starter relay and flasher relay and all the bulbs ( its alot easier to get these 12v parts from any auto store. You'll be amazed at your ability to drive at night and see where your going

The sockets are the same for 6V and 12V bulbs.....The signal's voltage is determined by the bulb, NOT the mounting....
6 Volt bulbs are just a pain to find anymore......

just another question about the conversion, will i need to change the coil, or the condenser when i do this conversion, or will the stock ones be sufficent?
