    The wave.

That said, yesterday my wife did a number on me. While we were driving in our car, she waved to all the motorcycles that we passed *facepalm*

Interesting, potentially-somewhat (tongue-in-cheek) accurate - but apparently only according to the area. Where I am, virtually everyone on a bike waves, which still amazes me because there was a time not so long ago that the Harley "B" comments were pretty accurate. Personally, I take issue with this one

"70’s and 80’s UJM (Universal Japanese Motorcycle) - Nice guys, kinda dorks. Will wave at everyone."

I'm afraid that includes most of us here...

Yeah, Harley riders never wave to us around here - just at other Hardly-Ablesons..........

I will usually "return" a gesture as long as traffic and safety will allow..
But having a "jockey shift" on my shovelhead.. I'm sure people thought I may have been initiating the gesture..

76-could have been worse .. she could have been doing it on the back while you were riding together..

It's a nod of the head to other bikers in the Uk, unless you have L plates on in which case you're ignored. If you drive a Land Rover Defender you wave at other LR Defenders, and Series Land Rovers, but ignore all other forms of Land Rovers, Disco's, Range Rovers, Freeloaders and Vagues, unless the driver or rider is at least a ten on the scale of One to Taylor Swift.

I wave to all motorcycles(even the weird Can-Am Spider) and I would say most wave back(or first). Since mopeds and scooters aren't motorcycles I don't wave.

A question from the other side of the pond; what is an L plate?
