Nice bike, Tom. I'm picking up a 85 VT1100C next week. 42,000 kms on it. I'll be 3rd owner. (father, son, me). I'm gonna call it Number 7. (my 7th Honda....lol) Got some road trips coming up. Need more ponies....lol

Unfortunately the market for these bikes has been down the last few years, if I tried to sell my '85 I'd take a big loss.

As a selling point for you, I call mine "Scary B***h" since it will do 75mph in second gear and is a 6 speed.

Good point Jim... but you gotta have someone actually interested in order to read the phrase. Guess I'm stuck with it...

Wouldn't have thought you were the forward-controls type, Dan - but my cousin out west has a later model of one (2004?) and he loves his. They are torquey and will certainly get you down the road on trips... he and his son (who also has one) take a ride from NM to CO every year, about 1200 miles round trip the route they take

Not really keen on the forward controls, Tom. I'm gonna see what I can fab for mid pegs at least, though.

Or just buy my bike, it has a low seat for a big bike, it's already set up the way you like it, it's as smooth or smoother than any V-twin and with lots more ponies... I'll make you a great deal!

If I had the money I would be down there to get it, it's a beautiful bike.
