    Whey you were younger...

When you were younger, you had asperations, you Wanted a Bike, and depending on your era you had a special bike..Like Me! I pressed my nose up against the bike shop window, and in my head said Cor! That's what I want....but I was 12, and couldn't afford it, nor could I ride it for another four years. In my dreams! It was 750 Triumph T160!
    I wasn't allowed a bike.
Until I was 16 and all my friends got mopeds! I followed them at 30 MPH, on my bicycle! We lived in the Fens, a part of England devoid of hills.. flat as a pancake for miles on end. For a fit sixteen year old following them was easy.. for a bit...but if you knew where they were going, just keep pedalling, and eventually you got there, just in time to find the gorgeous bird you fancied copping off with your soon to be ex mate.
Dad said No! But mum said No! Too. What to do?
I pumped up the tyres on my bike.
    Harummph.
Now; 41 years later, I want:
A Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans MkII
    A Norton Commando 750 Interstate.
    A Kawasaki Z900. In Yellow.
A BMW R100RT. IN Red. (My brother had the R100RS). At the time I had an R80/7.
    A Ducati 900SS
    An RD 400 aircooled Yamaha,
    A Honda CBX550F2
    A Yamaha XS650
    A Kawasaki KH400
    A Suzuki AP50.
A Honda VF750F in the red white and blue scheme,
    A Yamaha FS1E in purple.
    An Aprilia RSV4,
    A Triumph 675
A Kawasaki GPZ900. ( Tom Cruize in Top Gun)
    A Honda CB750 K3 in Blue.....
    A 1975 Honda Goldwing GL1000...
    A Suzuki SV650
    Really, a Puch Maxi!
    A Suzuki GT250, 185, and 125.
    And; if you've read this far;
    I've got:
    An H1.
    An H2.
    A GSXR1000
    2x R6...
    A CB500K0
    A CL450
    A CB400/4
    A CB400N
    A CB360
    A CB350/4
    An SL350
    A CB250RS RSA
    A CB200T in Gold,
    A CB200 in Red.
A Triumph T160 that was the cause of the squashed nose...
    A Triumph Bonneville T140E
    A Tiger 100 pre unit.....
    Aaande,
    A GSX400S KATANA,
    A GT750J
    A GT550J
    A GSX550EF
    A GT380M
    A T250R
    And An A100.
    I'm getting a Yamaha RD350LC Mars Bar.....deposit paid!
So younger members of Honda twins... I'm the custodian of a biking legacy.
I can't ride them all every day forever, I'm looking after them for the next generation; and that's you!
My Nephews don't show too much interest but.......

Well now.. Alan F... you're right. Batteries... I got Motobatteries, and share them between the bikes. Tyres, good point, starting out with new tyres on each, spending on each as needed. I don't skimp on tyres. New for each bike. Chain and sprockets ; and brake shoes or pads as needed. Plus fluid?
When I was A kid and I wanted.. I couldn't afford... Now.. I still can't really afford it but I still want,, so ****It I'm having it.
And Mike in Idaho... I would Like an A 10, too, I had an A65, and All I can say briefly, is it's good; reliable;,but underwhelming.
Fun; Strong; and it's only one of three bikes I've fallen off of. And it was my fault! I chased a Mod on a Lambretta; hit a raised manhole cover and slid down the highway on my arse. ( I didn't realise the damage to the bike was minimal until I fainted in Class and Matron sent me home....on my bike.. blood pouring from a scar on my hip!
    It's only a scratch!

So black knight, did you allow Author to cross the bridge... on his Lambretta?

How freakin big is your garage??
    Beautiful, Enjoy that herd!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

    “Must have”?
Well I’d like to be the owner of an SL350, and the beautiful 75 GL1000...Safire blue color and candy blue green respectively. But...as the crystal ball says, “ It is NOT in the cards”.
