    '06 Ducati Monster S2R 800

Quite the leap to the Monster in only your 4th bike. My start was far more gradual

    1 - CA102/CA110
    2 - CT200 (OHV 90cc)
    3 - S-90
    4 - SL90
    then went bigger with #5 - CA72

    1965 ca102

First bike was a 1965 CA102. My Dad bought it for my Mom but she only used it a few times. I took it over as a teenager and still have it!

Awesome, and amazing that you still have it. Same bike I started on at age 14... my Mom started riding in my first year of riding, but she got new bikes - first a CT70, then an SL100 and had 3 more bikes before giving it up due to a bad knee about age 50. Me and my Mom during a camping weekend

Interesting knowledge of the area, Steve - it could have been, as I rode there often during the early days when there were no regulations or yearly passes required, you just rode up and rode all weekend and rode home - but this picture was at Citrus Wildlife Management Area, about 15 to 20 miles west of Croom and a bit further north off US 41. My parents didn't care for Croom much because most people rode like wild men and they were (mostly) trail riders, so we camped at Citrus often and when I had my SL350K1 (also red), I would sometimes ride over to Croom during the weekend and ride with my high school buddies. What goes unnoticed in that picture of my SL175K0 was something my Dad did to his orange SL175K0 while I was at school one day (we went 3 bikes in a row of the same size, SL175s, SL350s and CB/CL450s)... he added an extra tube in the end of the muffler, told me he thought the single tube sticking out of it looked like a peashooter. When I saw it I immediately wanted him to put one in mine, and we proceeded to fool the owner of Honda Village (where I worked for the summer) into believing they came that way as they were both bought from him, like something odd that Honda had done to a few.

Same place yours was! and mine in these pictures too... it was probably at home, as most of the time our bikes went to the woods for the weekend in the back of my Dad's truck or on a trailer

My first bike was a Yamaha PW50 dirt bike when I was 7. I still have gravel in my left knee from trying to jump a rock with it one time! Here's a still of it from an old 8mm home video:

It looked a lot like this one from the web:

I got about 2 summers worth of riding before I outgrew it, then I got my CL450 when I was around 12 and that's been it ever since. Though soon I'm going to start messing around with a 1959 Cushman Eagle scooter, too.
