    You know, if this worked in 1974 electronics have come a long, long way since then.

    I know they are available. Purposely built ones are kinda pricey though. There are DIY articles on building one (really nothing but an adequate sized capacitor). Just like the article said in 1974 though, I keep thinking there has to be a catch.

    I've got one of those, took it off an old Honda about 20 years ago. It has two output wires, one for the ignition and one for the lights. Maybe I'll dig it out one of these days and try it out.
