You know if there are CBXs around I'm taking pictures of them - and those 2 were owned by the same guy from Ohio, and he told me those Historic tags are permanent, no renewal necessary... wish Florida would catch on to that. A 3rd CBX came up later and I forgot to get a picture of it... it had a strange-looking aftermarket alternator on it, the guy said he'd had a bunch of trouble with the stock ones in the past and ponied up for the better one. I never had much trouble with either of mine back then and find that interesting... and it wasn't for lack of revs on my bikes, I ran the hell out of them. Had to replace brushes a few times and the oil seal on the shaft occasionally as it would weep out the vent hole on the bottom, but nothing else. Didn't ask the Gold Wing owner about the mufflers but they do look like Sportster pieces, don't they?
I've seen two CBX1000 on CraigsList that have been off the road for a few years. It is killing me, I have to get the GL1100 done. This one is in its second go around; https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/m...774478624.html

Man, 84k is a lot for that bottom end. Right side rod lubrication has always been a weak point for them. I wore out the #5 rod bearing in my '79 in 20,000 miles (the front end elevated often probably had a lot to do with it) so unless this bike was babied all its life, I'd wonder about the remaining longevity of the engine overall... and apparently, from the ad, they didn't prep it for storage so it probably needs the carbs done (ugh). $6000 seems like a lot for a bike with many unknowns, despite what it is and what we know it should be worth if running - but it sure does look nice overall. Funny how so many other models seem plentiful and cheap in your area, yet there's this...
